A Jupiter cazimi in Leo happens on Wednesday, July 29th, bringing us a burst of vibrant, abundant, and expansive energy. It’s a powerful opportunity for manifestation work and setting intentions. Some astrologers dub Jupiter cazimis one of the luckiest transits of the year. It magnifies the energy we have supporting us as we work towards our dreams, and coming to us in the heart-centered sign of Leo this transit asks us to show up fully as ourselves in this moment. Jupiter’s energy magnifies and expands, and the Sun’s fire heightens and purifies its impact. This post covers the full energy of the cazimi and ideas for how to observe this moment in your spiritual practice.
What is a cazimi?
Cazimis occur when a planet forms an exact conjunction with the Sun. The word “cazimi” comes from an Arabic word meaning “in the heart of.” These transits represent a sacred process where the power of the Sun purifies and amplifies the energy that the conjuncting planet brings us. Stagnant energy is burned away and transformed. Challenges may be released. A new cycle begins, bringing fresh energy and new lesson. It is a moment of renewal and heightened energy. Some planets like the fast-moving Mercury have multiple cazimis in a year, but Jupiter cazimis happen only once each year.
What is the energy of Jupiter in Leo?
Jupiter is associated with abundance, prosperity, luck, knowledge, growth, expansion, optimism, and success. Jupiter in the passionate sign of Leo brings expansive, uplifting, and confident energy that encourages us to pursue what makes us feel alive and to let our light shine brightly. It inspires us to be unapologetic as we embody our authentic selves. It asks us to take up space, to show off, and go after our dreams boldly and with a deep sense of purpose. We are encouraged to let others witness our expansion. We are meant to be seen in this moment.
Jupiter in Leo heightens our creativity and influences our expression to be heart centered. It brings us supportive energy that encourages us to grow in alignment with our heart’s true desires. We have additional momentum behind us now in whatever we have been working towards. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and the expansive, bold, and creative energy of this cazimi is a powerful boost for manifestation.
The astrological context surrounding this transit:
The transit that was likely all over your feed last week is the famous Barbault’s Basket. The main alignment of the basket took place from July 19th to the 21st, but it will take time for us to fully understand the significance of this event. Andre Barbault, a famous astrologer who is known for correctly predicting several major world events, identified this highly significant transit. This transit represents a window that opened the possibility for great change at a societal level. It is an opportunity for humanity to align ourselves with a brighter future. Although this main alignment for the basket has already passed, it is worthwhile to note in the context for the cazimi. We are in a time where we are being reminded that better things are possible, and on a personal level, carrying that mentality of optimism and possibility creates an energetic alignment with the energy of the cazimi.
Neptune retrograde in Aries started on July 7th and is continuing through December 12th. Neptune retrograde in Aries asks us to reflect with honesty: “who are you becoming now? Are the dreams you’re chasing real?” It pushes us to own where we are headed and to chart the course thoughtfully.
Saturn retrograde in Aries just started on the 26th. Saturn’s retrograde in Aries lasts until December 10th, and for some of us this may deepen our introspection in the areas that the Neptune retrograde is bringing up for us (potentially with even greater discomfort.) Saturn is associated with structure, boundaries, responsibility, challenges, and karma. Saturn often gets a bad rep, but it ultimately acts a teacher in our lives, bringing us lessons to support us in our growth. How we handle the lessons makes all the difference. While Neptune asks us to find clarity about our dreams, Saturn pushes us to take accountability. This Saturn retrograde in Aries brings us questions for shadow work like:
-What are you willing to do to make your dreams a reality?
-How are you holding yourself accountable?
-How can you better show up for yourself?
-What obstacles must be removed?
-How are these challenges refining your path?
-What lessons are you learning?
The introspection around our goals, our actions, and our identities may deepen and intensify, illuminating areas where we can improve and grow. For some of us, this may involve slowing down to pause and reflect.
A Venus-Mars square also happens on the 29th, with Venus in Virgo and Mars in Gemini. On a personal scale we may be seeing some friction in inter-personal relationships. This may also be a time where we are called to reflect on our own energies, potentially including the balance of the masculine and feminine in ourselves.

The Pluto-Jupiter Opposition that formed a part of Barbault’s Basket peaked on the 20th. Pluto and Jupiter will be separating from their opposition when Jupiter conjuncts with the Sun for the cazimi, but the opposition will still be felt (and the Sun in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius will still be in opposition too.) Since the full moon post goes into more detail, I’ll keep this section short. The oppositions of planets in Leo and Aquarius may bring a sense of tension between who we are as individuals and our place in the collective. This energy may ask us to hold deep compassion both for others and ourselves. We are encouraged to ask expansive questions about what is possible, and to move forward calling in the changes we want to see.
Understanding the impact of this cazimi:
One way to understand with greater nuance how this cazimi may impact you personally is to evaluate your natal chart for what house Leo rules and which planets (if any) are in the sign of Leo. Every single person has a house that is ruled by Leo in their birth chart. The house varies from person to person based on their rising sign. The house can suggest the area in your life that may feel the boost of positive energy from the cazimi. The planets you have in Leo can also suggest how the cazimi may impact you. You may have planets that are in the sign Leo that fall outside the house that is governed by Leo. All of these areas are potential ways you may feel the energy.
Everyone can harness the energy of this cazimi in their spiritual practice. This transit is a powerful time for strengthening manifestation, creativity, abundance, confidence, self-love and magnetism.
Ritual ideas for this cazimi:
- Manifestation work – Jupiter’s expansive energies, clarified and energized by the Sun, can be a powerful aid in manifestation work. You are being encouraged to take up space and to voice your desires. If you have been doing intentional manifestation work, this cazimi is the perfect time to continue. If you have not actively been doing manifestation work, now is the perfect time to call into your life whatever you are seeking. Be mindful and intentional with what you call in, remember any reflections and lessons from Neptune and Saturn.
A manifestation ritual with the cazimi could be as simple as going outside for the cazimi itself (which is a brief window) and basking in the energy in meditation. Speak your manifestation into existence by stating it in the present or past tense. Gratitude can strengthen this practice as well. For example, you might say something like: “I receive the promotion I’ve been working towards. I am so grateful that my hard work is recognized and I am rewarded with such a great raise.”
You could consider writing your intentions for the coming Jupiter cycle in Leo and burning those intentions in a fire-safe dish, releasing the to the universe with confidence and trust that they are being fulfilled.
- Creativity talisman – This cazimi is the perfect time to charge a creativity talisman. Leo is associated with confident expression and powerful creativity. Jupiter is associated with creative energy and bringing ideas to life. The expansive energy of this cazimi is a perfect fit for making a creativity talisman. Cazimis are known to be times where divine downloads from our gods, guides, spirit allies, and our higher selves can come through more easily if we are open to the experience. If you are seeking a divine inspiration in your creative ventures, you can certainly incorporate that into your creativity talisman. Your talisman could be anything from jewelry, to aligned crystals like carnelian, a sigil crafted just for the occasion, or even some art magick like a painting.

This is the perfect time to pour love into yourself. Take a spiritual bath calling in abundance and vitality for the coming year. Money bowls are one of the most common and popular examples today, acting as an intentional focal point for calling in and growing money. You can put other ritual tools or jewelry to charge under the cazimi, particularly if you have any tools you use for manifestation. If you have a notebook you use for manifestation for example, that may be a good candidate to charge. Use good judgement to prevent damage to your tools depending on the weather.
